CURRENT STUDENTS: APPLICATIONS ARE NOW BEING ACCEPTED to the main educational & ensemble program for area music students in grades 8-12. Auditions take place throughout November (with all auditions at Ravenscroft in Scottsdale). VJC Indigo (Tuesday nights) and VJC Cerulean (Thursday nights) begin rehearsing in December. VJC Sapphire (Saturday mornings at MCC) begins rehearsing in January. We hope you will consider joining the VJC for its 10th anniversary season in 2025-26!

EDUCATORS: Check out the Flexible Instrumentation Big Band charts from VJC Publications. And listen to this great new music on our YouTube channel. New 2025 charts are being released throughout October/November!
VJC Publications offers flex. charts without compromise, designed to sound great—and complete—with just the minimum instrumentation (11 pieces). And of course, they sound truly spectacular with a full, 18-piece big band. Given the unpredictable nature of band program size from year to year, VJC Publications represents a great investment for any music library.

Please note that 100% of every VJC Publication purchase goes back into supporting the educational activities of the Valley Jazz Cooperative. Also, we now have five Christmas/Holiday big band charts available. Each of them are $10 off through mid-November to help you with your holiday programming! It's our "Martin Special"!
VJC APPLICATION (STUDENT IN GRADES 8-12)
For Ensembles @ Ravenscroft & MCC

Interested in joining the VJC @ Ravenscroft and/or VJC @ MCC? Please fill out the application form below, confirming your interest and commitment to participate. Within 48 hours of applying, you should receive an email response, providing pertinent follow-up information.

Please note: Students are asked to provide an email address as part of the application. However, as an increasing number of school districts implement filters to block "outside" emails from reaching students, it is growing more difficult to connect. As such, students are encouraged to provide an alternate (non-district) email address as part of their application. It need not be the student's primary, personal email address, but could be a parent or guardian's email address instead (if that is preferable).

Need to learn more about VJC programs before applying? Visit the VJC Ensembles page before coming back here to apply to our main program. VJC instruction is offered free of charge to passionate, committed, area music students in grades 8-12, following a successful placement audition.
